Advocate, June 2009: Rebecca Walker’s latest work of nonfiction is steeped in sexual orientation and gender identity. One Big Happy Family, published in February by Riverhead, argues that nonnuclear family structures like polyamory, adoptive parenthood by gays, single motherhood, and mixed-culture families are becoming the norm in suburbia and bustling cities alike.

The changes, for which lawmakers have dubbed the DP registry ”everything but marriage,” expands on the initial law from 2007.

Advocate.com, Nov. 4, 2008: Triangle Square, Hollywood’s LGBT senior living center, was abuzz Tuesday morning with all things election. Volunteers shuttled a few groups of residents who had not already voted with an absentee ballot down to the nearest polling place.
